RCP in the Spotlight

Abdullah Nurhasan, Colorado School of Mines RCP PhD candidate, presented his research at the 2017 EAGE conference in June in Paris, France. Abdullah's research focuses on time-lapse seismic analysis of data in conjunction with an unconventional shale study at Wattenberg Field, Colorado USA.    


Jake Utley, spring 2017 RCP MSc graduate, won first place at the Colorado School of Mines in the College of Earth Resource Science and Engineering (CERSE) for his poster at the GRADS Symposium on April 7, 2017. The title of his poster is, "Time-Lapse Seismic Inversion to Observe Stimulation and Production Effects."  

At the same event, PhD candidate Alena Grechishnikova was honored for her oral presentation, "Integration of New Technologies for Fracture Models, An Unconventional Niobrara Outcrop Case Study."  


Mines IBA Team takes 1st Place in Regionals

In March, the team from Colorado School of Mines won the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Rocky Mountain section Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) competition.   

Jacque Daves, RCP Geophysics MSc candidate, participated as a member of the winning team along with four geology students. The team went on to take fourth place at the global competition at AAPG's Annual Convention in April. Congratulations to Jacque and the team!
