Degree Program at Mines: PhD Geophysics

I graduated in 2002 from the University of Tehran with a Bachelor of Science in Mine Exploration Engineering. I graduated with a Master of Science in Petroleum Exploration Engineering in 2004 from the same university. In 2007 I moved to the States to continue my education and in 2010 graduated with a Masters in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.

Considering my background of exploration courses and engineering courses, I found RCP very close and appropriate to my background and interests. I joined RCP to pursue my PhD in 2011. My research interest is to build reservoir models considering seismic properties along with time lapse seismic data and geostatistical methods.

My research involves building a geological model for Delhi Field, LA. applying multiple-point geostatistics and multicomponent seismic data. Unlike conventional geostatistical methods, multiple-point geostatistics enables us to model complex and curvilinear geological structures. Incorporation of multicomponent seismic data helps us to build a more accurate facies model in the presence of fluids.

My personal interests are mostly outdoor activities including skiing, hiking and shopping! Some indoor interests include music, movies and reading books.
