Degree Program at Mines: PhD Geophysics

I received my Bachelor’s and Master of Science degrees in Exploration Geophysics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2014. My Master’s Thesis was focused on Frequency Domain Seismic Forward Modeling and Reverse Time Migration. While completing my masters, I interned at British Gas (now part of Shell), where I worked on AVO analysis and Seismic Inversion.

Prior to joining the School of Mines in the Fall of 2017, I worked with Schlumberger for 3 years where I started my career as a processing geophysicist. I got the opportunity to move to a Software Engineering role where I developed Multicomponent Event Registration modules for Petrel and Pre-Stack Data Management modules for ProSource.

I am interested the application of data analytics and machine learning techniques to static and dynamic reservoir characterization. I am a part of the Eagle Ford Team. With the vast amount of data available in the project, data analytics will help us understand and classify our data which will eventually lead to better understanding of the Unconventionals.

I like hiking and climbing and plan to enjoy the complete Colorado experience. When at home, I enjoy reading books and watching shows on history, mythology and finance.
