EDUCATION

I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2012 from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. During which, I interned with Encana Corporation where I worked on two unconventional gas projects. For the first project, I worked as a field operations engineer developing shale assets in the Liard Basin, Canada, and for the second, I worked as a production engineer developing coalbed methane assets in the Horseshoe Canyon Coals, Canada, with the purpose of evaluating and identifying suitable wells for a new refracture program.

After graduation, I was hired by Devon Energy as a field production engineer out of Lloydminster, Canada and, subsequently, as a facilities engineer in Calgary, Canada. As a part of the Lloydminster Asset Team, we successfully increased production through new wells, infill drills, recompletion zones, and stimulation candidates in underperforming zones in both heavy oil and shallow gas. The integrated asset team was composed of production engineers, reservoir engineers, geologists, geophysicists and field operations. As a facilities engineer in Calgary, I worked on a large variety of projects covering the full spectrum of reservoir life-cycle stages including: startup infrastructure and pipeline planning for a multibillion-dollar facility; single well and multi-well battery facility designs; produced water disposal facilities; solution gas and produced water tie-ins; and coordinating well and facility abandonments. As a member of RCP, I am planning to develop reservoir engineering skills and competencies, as well as build upon my background in production and facilities engineering.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests include multiphase rate transient analysis, dual-porosity/dual-permeability reservoirs, pressure transient analysis of fractured reservoirs, and temperature transient analysis from producing fluids in fractured reservoirs. My desire is to take a full, life-cycle approach of reservoir extraction.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

When I am not passionately working on the reservoir, my wife and I have fun with: DIY projects, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, fishing, music, art and travel.
